My dp (carpenter) often gets them from Howdens -they sell to general public as well I think.

Word of advice though - We've got a black, marble-effect one and although it looks very striking its a bit of a pain if you live in a hard water area as it shows all the water marks when you wipe it down.

Are you totally convinced you want a high gloss finish, they do scratch immediately and irreparably...

i like the look of the high gloss finish and was told as long as i use an E-cloth it'd be ok - is it hard work to keep nice?
would i'd be better with a matt black?

depends if you mind wiping/buffing etc to get rid of smudges and water marks. Personally I find that the least time spent in a kitchen the better
Also depends on whether other-half, kids etc are well trained and use chopping boards, clean up after themselves.
