You count your blessings you didn't go up in smoke!!

did it go bang? - I often wonder what happens...

morningpaper · 22/09/2005 19:06

in all seriousness, the best position for the power cable is over your shoulder - that way, it should stop you cutting into it (unless you're planning on chopping off your shoulder as well!)

is it a power cable you plug into the stimmer? can you get another one?

popmum · 22/09/2005 19:17

I've done that a couple of times and now no longer do the hedge!!! Hubby repaired cable with a patch thing. Should think about a special cut off thing you plug the plug into when you plug it in if you know what you mean!? It stops the electricity causing any problems
When I did it there was a bang and a spark. I was fine though - wearing rubber soled slippers i think helped!!

Buy (& don't forget to use) a circuit breaker - shuts off the power than a blown fuse & therefore gives you better protection against electric shock.

Actually it was plugged into an extension with a circuit breaker (I'm sooo sensible!).

I think I might take it down to my builder's merchants and look pathetic and see if anyone can fix it.
