...what flooring do you have in it?

Got to get a new one - carpet is nice and warm but is it really a no-no in a bathroom?

HELP!

I have laminate- the Aqua Lock from b and Q.
I haev a rug by the bath. In the old house I had a carpet. Either is ok but the laminate gets slippy when wet

difficult isn't it? In our pre-kid days we had wooden laminate stuff and I loved it - looked fab, soft and warm, but not sprone to smelliness (like carpets) - but, we were actually told you did need to take a lot of care of it, not get it too wet etc, and in our current house we were told it was a bit of a no-no with kids. so we have stone tiles - look nice, but don;t feel very good. Have you thought abuot lino or or that stuff who's name excapes me but is the modern quivalent. you can get some really nice-looking stuff, bright colours, trendy patterns.

I got them from b and q yesterday and they look really expensive and have a matt warm feel finish Our bathroom is not big so am hoping they will brighten it up When we moved in here there was awful carpet on the bathroom floor and it felt lovely but I had to get rid of it ds was gutted as he thought it was great

triceratops · 22/09/2005 18:20

I have vinyl. It is non slip and easy to clean and cheap. Carpet is not good if you have kids who may be potty training.

berolina · 22/09/2005 18:21

we have tiles
When I was growing up we had carpet in bathroom. It's ok as long as you a) are careful about getting too much water on it (= good shower curtain/screen) and b) air the room enough. Am so used to tiles now that I find the idea of carpet a bit odd, but don't see it as a problem.

Gobbledigook · 22/09/2005 18:23

Hmm, yes. Don't really want carpet as have 3 boys under 5 and I HATE those fluffy mats that go round the toilet!

We had laminate before but we've taken it up because water leaked through and was making marks on teh morning room ceiling below - and you could smell the damp.

That's why I'm wondering what's best.

Hatstand - do you mean cardene, or however you spell it?

laminate [aqua lock like pixiefish] with a rug on.

philippat · 22/09/2005 18:23

original minton encaustic tiles (sorry, no help at all to you, but do rather like boasting about it ). The interesting thing is that I thought tiles would be very cold under foot and they aren't.
