Ballet and tap shoes online

My dd has outgrown her tap and ballet shoes again, normally I only have to buy ballet shoes which isn't too bad. But the girl whose old tapshoes we normally get just isn't growing fast enough so I will have to buy both.

Does anyone know of a company online who are reasonable as the shop in town is quite expensive.

Have you tried ebay, there is usually lots on there, I always get my Dd1's character shoes from there now.

TwinSetAndPearls · 21/09/2005 11:43

I didn't think of ebay, thanks nutcracker! Feel a bit stupid as I buy almost everything else from ebay!

what do you mean by charactar shoes?

Character shoes are black shoes with a little heel on. Dd has only just started using them so i'm not entirly sure which bits they use them for but I know she said they do a bit at the end of each lesson with them on.

we get ours at the ballet/tap lessons, a little man turns up with loads of boxes (tap were about £12)

TwinSetAndPearls · 21/09/2005 12:12

gosh that is cheap bundle.

I thought that too. the ballet ones are £8 ish, same as johnny lou lou's...and obviously it's convenient, because he comes at the beginning of term, sometimes for two weeks running (he has leotards, skirts, tights too)

TSaP, what size is she?

Cam · 21/09/2005 12:21

TwinSetAndPearls · 21/09/2005 20:39

She will be going into a size 11 for both. her tapshoes probably ahve another few weeks in but her ballet shoes are unwearable now.

Tsap - I've just put dd's old hardly worn size 11.5 ballet shoes on Ebay! Had I known you could have had them! I got them brand new from an Ebay shop which I'd recommend. Postage is a bit pricey, but very fast and good shoes and still miles cheaper than local shop. Seller is peveril100.

TwinSetAndPearls · 21/09/2005 23:27

ooh will have a look.

Putting dds on Ebay, loads of them - why didn't I think of that??

TwinSetAndPearls · 22/09/2005 00:21

I would sell dd old tap shoes but I don;'t know if I would bother with ballet shoes as the whole point is that they mould to your feet.

Well, I'm amazed at the response I've had to dd's shoes. There's almost two days to go and it's up to £5 now! Wow! She only wore them a few times though, so look like new.

I got confused with your confusion too - lol. But the shoes are great and no hassle whatsoever. Think I should get comission now from peveril100! . I ordered them on a Weds evening and paid by paypal. The shoes arrived on Friday morning in time for the first class of the new term, so heavy postage cost was worth it!

ps pmsl at 'putting dd on ebay'! Wonder if I'd get much for her!
