Best Site for Downloading MP3's?

Hiya, have just acquired a new MP3 player (a Sony one) & was wondering what the best site was for downloading some MP3's? Sony do their own site, but it's 99p per track which I think is a bit steep. Had a look at napster, but I don't think the format is compatible with the Sony MP3

Thanks, Iona

btw am i going to get hunted down by the fbi now???!!!

MummyJules · 22/09/2005 18:56

Lolasmum - Beware of Limewire. It's being investigated at the moment. The best one and (99 % legal) is Allofmp3.com as it is Russia and has funny copyright laws!

ionaming · 22/09/2005 22:34

Ooh, lots to try....thanks everyone. And, Monstersmummy, no, I'm not the FBI

be aware that almost all file sharing programmes come bundled with adware/spyware.

also nothing is 99% legal - you'll find that you are still subject to UK copyright law if you use file sharing programmes and live in the uk.

but heh ho - read the agreement (and if it says "I agree to install all manner of crap on my machine", then don't install).

MrsSpoon · 22/09/2005 22:37

Word of warning be very, very suspicious of any MP3 site that is "free". Never file share MP3s!

SenoraPostrophe · 22/09/2005 22:37

kazaa in particular puts lots of rubbish on your machine and often results in a reinstall.

MrsSpoon · 22/09/2005 22:39

BPI has info about keeping on the right side of the law.

Try again BPI
