Should I keep driving this?

Discovered today that dH has been topping up the power steering fluid on MY car for some weeks now but hasnt thought it necessary to mention it to me Hmm Is it really ok to just keep topping up? And he also says the ABS sign on the dash thats lit up is just the dash playing up and not the abs.

Would appreciate hearing from any one who knows about cars please. Its an old 4x4 Scenic, diesel by the way. Tia.

Get it checked. The power steering on my (much smaller) car went after all the fluid drained out; fortunately I was able to get it off the road.

And you never take chances with your brakes.

What are your dh qualifications and what checks has he done on the abs? What is he filling the power steering with, how does he know this is right?

Assuming he is not a mechanic or some enthusiast who has stripped and rebuilt several cars then no, you shouldn't drive it, except to a proper garage.

He does have some knowledge. He generally looks after our cars. I just thought I should be aware of how things are on my car so I dont panic when/if something happens. So wanted to double check. I should go and talk to someone at a Renault garage really.
