Daughter is 20 months...my mum gave her 'my first leap pad' on her 1st b-day...never touched it...she now takes it out every now and then, but doesn't like the book part, it also comes with pages that do animals sounds and things, she prefers that...I think in the next few months she'll find it more interesting, right now, she's bored within 5 mins. So depending on how old your little one is...

My dd didn't like hers months ago, but now at 2- months loves it if I sit down and look at it with her. She absolutely loves books and anything she can press buttons on.

Wouldn't recommend it for a very young child.

mine have never shown the slightest bit of interest in the little leappad. I also think that the coil attached to the pen is too taut and makes it difficult to use anyway, turning pages is also confusing (as it's not the normal book format) and harder.

my eldest has a standard leappad and liked that at age 4 or so but hasn't been interested in it for a while now (she's 6).

DD is 2, and got the my first one for last Xmas - she is just starting to take an interest. She prefers the standard ones that my friend's older kids have, even if she doesn't understand what to do with them.
