Its DH's birthday on Thursday and he has finally decided what he wants - an Ipod. Now this is a bit too hi tech for me so would some one please tell me which one to get.He is almost as much of a technophobe as I am, so don't make it a complicated one. I'm not in London so can't go to the Apple shop. thanks!

Argos do them!

A few months ago I would have said that they're more of less the same gadget but different physical sizes, each capable of holding a different number of songs. I have a mini ipod (around the £150 mark I think) which can hold around 1,500 songs (or 5 whole days worth of music/audiobooks).

I vaguely recall that some new aspects are being added, and if there is a new version out which is very slim and stylish, so that would probably be a good gift!

the nano is the new one - see amazon

Mini-iPods are considerd v girly and not for men! Get the full kaboodle.

The Nano is the one that both me and dh are drooling over - if your budget can stretch, looks well worth it!

dh has a silver 6Gb mini ipod and loves it. does not think it girly at all. although i have to say i lurve the nano one

csa · 19/09/2005 09:47

oh, forgot to say 6Gb = 1500 songs and 4Gb = 100 songs approximately.

Have you seen the new i-pod Apple have just launced - it's the size of a credit card! Cool but wouldn't last long in this house!

DH has I-pod 40gb and a ipod shuffle. The big ipod sits next to the computer all day and he really only uses the shuffle. He's got a water proof "gym" case for the shuffle which he wears round his neck. It looks like one of those personal alarms that the elderly wear He's also bought shuffles as presents for friends so I reckon they must be pretty good.

dh has a big one and a shuffle and prefers to use the shufle for work as it's fits in his pocket more easily - brought it from boots.
