can you fix car boot that won't stay up

Is it one of the struts that support it that is broken?

think so, it slams down and won't stay up

I don't really know....have a google. Can you tighten the struts or at least get at them to replace them if necessary?

i'll have to look in daylight

really want to avoid garage as i seem to be there all the time atm

google makes it seem quite easy

Here is one answer to a google question;

"Its because one or both of the gas struts that support the tail gate when its open has lost pressure, you have to get them replaced they cannot be repaired."
