Hi

I have the Jane Matrix system for my baby due on Saturday!!! I have only JUST got round to testing it in the car to make sure it fits! (I know silly!!!) and cant for the life of me work out how to fit it in in the lying down position - the diagrams and instructions just make noooo sense to me. Could anyone shed any light and explain it a little bit for me!?

Thank You so much

Rebecca

Scroll down on this page for instructions.

Fasten the seatbelts. You make a loop with the lap part of the belt. Hold the metal connector on the car seat. Slide the dark red pole bit aside, put the loop through the connector. Wiggle the dark red metal thing through the loop. Pull the seatbelt tight. Do the same on the other side.

Clear as mud... Sorry, I can see it all in my head but can't explain it any better!

Rebecca

We had the same nightmare with the Jane car seat - have to admit I left my DH to sort it out though, so cant really help. All I can tell you is once the red triangle clips are fitted to the car, it really does become very quick to attach the car seat. I would definitely advise you to get in a bit of practice now while you can - we got caught out as DS arrived 2 weeks early!

Thanks for the replies, I think ive got it just about sussed - the bit I dont get is should the clips be attached to the diagonal part of the seat belt or the lap bit?!?

Thanks!

Rebecca

The clips should be attached to the diagonal part of the seatbelt.
It's not the easiest carseat to fix, but I'm hoping as I use it more and more it will become easier!

The clips fix to the lap bit of the belt, NOT the diagonal. The link Zerub posted shows clearly if you scroll down about half way. We've found it feels most secure the closer the clips are to where the seat belt anchors to the car.

What we didn't realise for a while when first using it (d'oh!) is that you just unhook the clips from the carseat when taking it out, leaving them attached to the seatbelts - then when you get back to the car you just click the clips back onto the carseat - simple and quick. I'm sure we went round for a week or so with the clips clinking away as we carried the carseat or had it on the pram chassis - dolts.

Bear - don't feel too daft. I went around with the clips clinking for the entire 6 months that we used the seat. The week before we switched to a bigger seat, I worked out that you're supposed to leave the clips attached to the seat belt... Well, it doesn't say in the instructions anywhere, does it?
