my miele cylinder - someone on here recommended it and I bought it about 1 month ago (I think it was hunkermunker)

The Henry vacuum cleaner by Numatic - they're the ones with the smiley face on the front. Professional cleaners and builders use them. I love mine. There are a few Henry devotees on mn, but I know Miele are well thought of too (recent thread on this somewhere).

I have had mine for over 7yrs, in the meantime my Mil to be has had 3 Dysons to my one. Mine is a plain Upright Panasonic 1400 watts with onboard tools and takes bags. Its nossle reaches up my stairs too, and it hoovers my laminated flooring too!

I do have the Miele S571. It's lovely. There's a thread somewhere in praise of it

I got it from here - much cheaper than a Dyson too

I have a Sebo and I think it is great.

Tiggiwinkle · 15/09/2005 14:04

I have the same Miele-it is great. (I changed to it from a Dyson which I absolutely hated-endless problems with it. It was only about a year old when I got rid of it!)

My S571 arrived yesterday and it is great. Much quieter than my old one too.
