I'm trying to buy a gas hob but find most models unsafe. Most gas hobs have a cooking surface 1-2 inches above the worktop. Moving pots is tricky for the cook and creates danger for small kids nearby.
I'm looking for a gas hob which has a continuous cooking surface which is recessed into the worktop providing a continuous cooking surface flush with or slightly above worktop. It's easier move things around and spillages are contained. They do exist but for a massive price (Fisher and Paykel - for 700 euros! also Smeg have a simlar priced model) No retailer is bothering with my queries.
Has anyone bought such a gas worktop? All advice appreciated.
