iPod speakers - recommendations please

Dd would like iPod speakers for Christmas.
Any idea how much I need to spend? Any good makes...?

My local Apple store recommends JBL Radial in terms of good quality for the money. It's not so much speakers as this loop that fits over the I-pod, but the sound quality is fine for a bedroom. There are smaller cheaper versions by JBL for about 70 quid, I think (just a guess, I don't live in the UK). The really cheap no-name speakers are rubbish, apparently.

would definately go for the JBL round ones!! we tried the BOSE ones alongside these in john lewis and blew the bose ones away with sound and clarity.
