What "Tog" is your toddler/child's duvet

Perhaps this is a stupid question but.....what "tog" duvet does your child have. I have just realised that my son has been in a 4.5 tog for the past 18 months and am thinking of getting a heavier one for winter.

I have never seen any guidance on this and don't know whether young children should/shouldn't have same tog ratings as adults.

I think this is fine for a reasonably well insulated and heated house, and a child in jammies.

Got through last winter with only 4 tog duvet on DD1 (2 1/2 at the time and fresh into a big girls bed) and she never woke up cold - even when she'd kicked the covers off...

My ds has a 4.5 tog and is usually fine in winter with his pyjamas. Does sometimes ask for a blanket on top when it gets very cold. I am not considering getting him a heavier one, seems easier just to add the blanket.

4.5 tog, with a throw on top if it's a very cold night.

I think 4.5tog is max for a child your sons age as they can't regulate their body heat. I started DS on a 10 tog one (which was marketed as a childs bedding starter set) He is now 4 and in a 4.5 tog and is really toasty.

Thank you for this it was a question I had been meaning to resolve for ages.

No idea - how do you lot even know these things?!

I was told I shouldn't go above a four. Not sure when that changes, but my two (5 &6) always seem to get very sweaty under that. They have just had a blanket for most of this summer - in fact ds has been boiling up a treat with just a sheet.
