Ford Focus Zetec or Ghia owners please!

We're looking for a new car, and have more or less settled on a newer model (2005 onwards) Ford Focus Zetec or Ghia.

One problem we have with our current car is that you can only fit a size 0 adult in the middle seat between the two car seats (one stage 1, one high-backed booster), which can be very uncomfortable if we want to take Granny on an outing with us.

So, can anyone tell me if these cars are any more roomy in the back? We need to comfortably fit the two car seats and an adult.

If not, can anyone suggest a car which isn't too huge, like maybe the C-Max (don't quite want to up to S-Max size) that does have more room in the back?

Thanks!

We've got a Focus Zetec estate. We got three car seats (two high backed boosters and one stage one)in the back fairly easily (more so than in our VW Passat estate).

I think you could get any sized adult in with two car seats, but comfortably (for the adult?) not sure.

They'd certainly be fine for journeys of less than an hour but I wouldn't want to be sat in the back with two car seats for longer than that.

We're going on a 7-hour drive to France, which is why we need something comfy.

hi, we went through exactly this problem as we have two car seats and a granny who comes with us a fair bit.

we looked and looked and settled on a ford c max. its totally fine and very roomy generally, with a bigger boot than a normal focus. But- the space between the car seats is ok but not totally comfortable- an average sized person would be happy going to thr shops but not much further. its worked fine for us and was the biggest space we could find.

several car dealers said that we would need to go up to a mpv type car to get a proper third seat in the back.
