ipad - can I only get one from the apple store?

also what is the difference between wifi and wifi+3g?

Nope, you can get them from other places too. I think PC World do them.

Wifi means you can only use the internet where there's a wireless network e.g. at home, in coffee shops, in libraries.....

3G is what you use when there is no wireless network. It works a bit like mobile phones. You have to pay twice for that though: once in the extra cost to actually buy the iPad, and also you have to pay a phone company (like Orange) to provide you with a SIM card so you can use their internet. You'd only really need this if you were planning to use it outside of your house.
