what's it like? Having driven a manual for last 6 years we were thinking of going for an automatic?

Weird to begin with - you really have to force your left foot to do nothing. My automatic had a foot rest for that purpose. But after that, I like the automatic slap-down (when you push the accelerator hard) and it makes hill-starts easy-peasy. Grin

Depends on how you like to drive - if you do a lot of town driving, or towing, they are great. If you like to put your foot down, and pull away fast from junctions, then not so good.

That said, I've just bought one as have hurt my wrist, and will always have problems with it now, and dh is adjusting to it slowly
