Renault Espace or Citroen C4 Grand Picasso or Citroen C8

As I am a childminder we are looking to upgrade our Citroen Berlingo to something with 7 seats. As we also play in a brass band and usually have a lot of equipment to carry to concerts etc, we need something practical. It needs to have a big boot (but this is not with the 7 seats up as I wont be childminding at the same time as carrying band stuff. It needs to be quite high as my husband plays sousaphone and it has a very high case. The Berlingo is fab for the carrying except that it doesnt have the 7 seats.

Also we have a caravan so it needs to be a good tow car. The Berlingo is not a good tow car and really struggles with our caravan.

We have narrowed the search down to a Renault Espace, Citroen Grand Picasso C4 or Citroen C8. Does anyone have experience of these cars, ie towing, general use, whats the fuel consumption/insurance like?

I have a Citroen c4 at the moment it is really good has three prober seat in the middle row which makes putting car seat in and out really easy. I have just ordered a Renault grand scenic (my car gets changed every three years I am a motability customer) which looks even better I have gone for a diesel which has 6 speed gear box and is really low on emissions and good mpg. Whether a car is good for towing will depend on how powerful the engine is and how much torc it has ( I don't really know but that what my husband said) Both the espace and the c8 are really big car so have 7 adult seat which means you may have to lift them in and out and store them where as the others don't.

You can also get a belingo multi space that has seven seats but I couldn't find one to look at.

I have been very happy with the c4 it only as it was going to cost me more on the deposit and the Renault was on a better deal
