Hey, my 18 month old LOVES duplo lego. Also, when she turned one, someone gave her goldilocks and the three bears house from ELC. GOLDILOCKS SHAPE SORTER)
It's a house and you have to put the characters in the chimmney, and then you can take them out thru doors. If she likes putting things in and out, that might be an option! I found the link on the site! My little one plays with it almost everyday!

My DD2 (a little older - 21 months) loves little cloth handbag type things (big sister has sooo many bags to choose from...) and spends hours putting small toys in them, carrying them around and then taking them out, looking at them, putting them back in etc - she feels very grown up. Her favourite is a lovely soft fleecy one with a toy cloth makeup set, fabric little compact mirrir, fabric stuffed lipstick, toy purse etc - hours and hours of fun.

The ELC have some lovely little people small doll?s house/pirtae ship/airplane etc with a handful of bits and pieces. MY DD2 loves this - moves all the people around and talks away to them. DD1 enjoys playing with them too and so must have lasting power as she is 4.

DD2 also loves her mobile phone (toy!) and wanders around the house with it, talking away to Noddy or whoever. Convinced it is giving her the confidence to practise her talking.

My DD is 19 months and at the moment her favourite toy is a doll's buggy which she pushes everywhere.
She loves anything that looks like a phone (remote controls keep getting lost!)
She is beginning to get into those wooden puzzles (with the lift out pieces)
Loves shape sorters ... she has had one for ages but is only just now getting into the complicated ball shaped one. She has had the puzzles for ages too but is beginning to be able to do them herself.
Duplo is good too.
She loves music too and dances to DS's fisher price tape player ...
