i am getting the daisey playhouse for my girls.

well as soon as i can get hold of my dads credit card lol.

Hulababy · 05/09/2005 21:20

They are lovely. Have to get DD a playhouse for the new place - on 4 week's time. But DH won't go for a wooden one - the hassle of needing a base, etc. Shame.

Suzyfloozypuddingandpie · 05/09/2005 21:21

Wish I had a garden big enough. And enough brass.

spacecadet · 05/09/2005 21:24

we have a big garden, but dh wont let me put anymore outdoor stuff in it

bluesky · 06/09/2005 16:12

hulababy, do you need a special base? can you not just put them straight onto grass or ground?

SoupDragon · 06/09/2005 17:56

Not sure you need a special base at all. If you want a base, just make a concrete one. And hassle is minimal and it's FAR nicer than having a mound of plastic in your garden.

Not sure I can justify a fort as well as the Ben Nevis...

bluesky · 06/09/2005 17:57

... just make a concrete one .... that sounds way beyond my talents!!

Whizzz · 06/09/2005 18:00

DS would LOVE that !

LIZS · 06/09/2005 18:05

Think you could use paving slabs rather than go to the hassle of concrete. Isn't it just to stop the damp from the ground going into the wood.

SoupDragon · 06/09/2005 18:07

When I said "just make a concrete one" I actually meant "just get someone in to make a concrete one"

Having said that, I have made a concrete base before Simply involved a metal frame, put the "ingredients" for cement inside, mix them up and spread them out.

SoupDragon · 06/09/2005 18:08

But yes, slabs would be fine.

blueteddy · 07/09/2005 20:49

Only gone & ordered the castle one!

vickiyumyum · 07/09/2005 20:54

am still trying to persuade dh that ds2 needs the fort! :0

Hulababy · 07/09/2005 20:58

I know - it's not me that needs convincing!!! It's DH...I keep trying!

blueteddy · 07/09/2005 20:58

Have you shown it to your DH?!
