Hi, would really appreciate honest opinions about what to do pushchair-wise with a toddler (will be 3) and newborn? Am thinking of splashing out on a Phil & Ted's E3. Anyone any experience of these? TIA,

We have a P&T and so far DS is enjoying it (hope he'll be happy to share with DS2/DD in a couple of weeks' time )

tassis · 04/09/2005 14:11

will your 3 year old still need the pushchair much?

would you consider a buggy board?

pacinofan · 04/09/2005 15:08

Hi Tassis, at the moment dd really enjoys her pushchair but hard to predict how she will be as she grows older. Have thought of buggy board but the pram system we have (Quinny Freestyle) does not facilitate using them (or if it does I can't figure it out). Also, fed up to the back teeth lugging the Quinny around, too heavy and won't fit in the car. Cheaper to buy a new pram than a car, me thinks.

Just had a look on Kiddicare.com at the E3 and I have to say it's really growing on me. I can see myself getting addicted to pushchairs at this rate!

I love mine but have to say that DS1 hasn't sat in a pushchair since 2.2 and at the same age DD is now spending as much tie in as out so I often have one seat empty, not sure I would have bought one with your gap but DD wasn't walking when DS2 born so I had little choice!

NannyL · 04/09/2005 19:12

Phil and Teds is THE pushchair for a toddler and a newborn! (IMO)

So far the only one ive fouund that you CAN ACTUALLY push easily AND fit through doors!

sweetkitty · 04/09/2005 19:35

I am having the same dilemma, DD will be 17-18 mo when DB born have decided on a P+T's so far will have a look at it in real life.

Alun · 04/09/2005 19:36

I am thinking of buying a P&T..does a buggy board fit on this style?

NannyL · 04/09/2005 19:50

Alun... i dont know for sure but i imagine a biggy boardwould NOT fit on Phil and Teds when you were using it as a double, but cant see why it wouldnt work if you were using the buggy in the single mode (maybe not if it was single with the cot?)

Thats what i would GUESS from seeing it!

Oh and sweet kitty, im sure when you see it you will fall in love with it and go WOW thats the one!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 04/09/2005 20:00

ive got a marco sky going if anyone is interested?!

Alun · 04/09/2005 20:49

cheers nannyl.
is the shopping bag an issue.. ie: no space for any more than a packet of kitkats?
Does anyone have the same issue..or the are side bags worth buying?

starlover · 04/09/2005 20:58

thing i don't like about the p&t is that the baby, or the child in the rear seat is right in line for car fumes/dust kicked up on pavement/general low level crap!

misdee · 04/09/2005 21:10

in the newborn position the baby is pretty much enclosed, so not much chance of dust/fumes getting to the baby, and tbh by the time you're baby can go into the 2 toddler mode of the buggy, your eldest will more than likely be walking more. i use it in two toddler mode for the school walk only (1 mile each way approx), about town, dd2 walks beside me. but i used as a single just before dd3 was born, and as baby and toddler for the last six months. and the resale value is pretty good as well. it really does hold its value.

kbaby · 06/09/2005 22:12

From those of you who have the buggy. How does the toddler and baby seat work? From what I can see on the picture the toddler seat covers the baby, so how do you see the baby?
Also when its too toddler seats is the 2nd toddler ok with being so low down at the back with the only view being the back of the seat in front.

kbaby · 06/09/2005 22:17

sorry also anyone have a picture of a marco sky buggy

tia again

Nemo1977 · 06/09/2005 22:20

Ive bought a marco sky for ds and db to use. Its a really nice pram and cant wait to use it.

There is a pic on JABM for sale thread.

Nemo1977 · 06/09/2005 22:21

the marco sky works well as back seat is a little higher than front so baby would be able to see aswell...although obviously when first born will be lying down most of the time.

wheresmyfroggy · 06/09/2005 22:22

It's open at the back so you can see the baby.

we have put dd and her cousin in it when in the two toddler mode and they seem fine in the back (sleep inducing even )

good thing about P+T is when older child is walking it is just as functional as a single unlike the marco which is always a double
