i always thought, this was bc, you'd only ever need 1 pushchair . how wrong was i!, how many have you got?, we seem to have accumulated more than we have space for, are we odd? :

no1. a travel system, my mum bought it without telling us, wasn't what we would have chosen.

no2. a 3-wheeler, we live in a rural village with a canal to go walking along.

no3. a cheap buggy, when dd got a bit older

no4. a m&p 2-in-1, a freebie, passed on by my brother.

no5. not purchased yet, but now with a 3yr old dd, and new ds, feel the need for a new stroller, but is it a necessity or hormones?!! [wink}

Sorry, I had to go and have a quick look at the Citisport and Cosatto Swiftlite.

Thanks for the offer misdee, but it doesn't have suspension (unless it's just not listed in the features) and it's a little heavier than I really wanted. The Cosatto is also a little heavier than I wanted and doesn't have adjustable handles.

I know, I know, I'm so difficult to please.

starlover · 02/09/2005 22:20

oh have a look at the cosatto helix... that has adjustable handles it hink

starlover · 02/09/2005 22:21

i have a cosatto lunar... handles aren;'t adjustable but are ok height for me and i am 5'8

bran · 02/09/2005 22:26

I can't find the helix on the Cosatto website, do you think it's discontinued? They have a pretty good search feature on the website so I looked for all the things I want, but they all came up too heavy. Ideally I would like 5kg or less.

(Sorry for the thread hijack by the way - I'm finding this thread very comforting that I'm not the only one with a buggy problem )

  1. A 3 wheeler with a carrycot

sold because very long DS outgrew the carrycot at 9 weeks and the hammock seat wasn't supportive enough

  1. Instep Nipper (fab pushchair - still use as my main one).

  2. Marmet pram for sleeping in the garden.

  3. McClaren quest for the chair (sold on)

  4. Mountain buggy double with carrycot

(5.5 Mountain buggy double - bought for friend on eBay before she measured her boot... sold on)

  1. E3 - sold on as gave me shoulder ache and felt it didn't recline enough for DD

  2. Jeep $20 stroller bought in US to give DS some exercise pushing DD in malls!

So...left with 2, 3, 5 and 7. But I do have a 3 yr old, an 18 month old and one due next year so I can't get rid of any of them yet.

Would like a rear facing Nipper in an ideal world though.

lucykate · 02/09/2005 22:29

bran can i recommend this ebay guy for cheap 2nd hand buggys/prams. i won one 2 nights ago, paid for it about 7pm, it was with me at 9am today.

starlover · 02/09/2005 22:32

have a look at the glasgow pram centre... they hae TONS of different ones...

Surfermum · 02/09/2005 22:34

Thank heavens, expat and kama. I was starting to think I'm a weirdy. I've only ever had one - a Britax travel system that will do dd until she no longer needs one. It's been fantastic.

lucykate · 02/09/2005 22:37

if we do buy a new stroller, will def be downsizing our collection. will only keep the 3-wheeler.

lucykate · 02/09/2005 22:40

can't help but think if my mum had let us choose one ourself's in the begining, there may have been a chance that we would only have the one. instead.....we had to build a garage.

OP posts:
bran · 02/09/2005 22:43

lucykate - I think the only restriction on my buggy problem is the lack of storage. If I had a garage I would have loads more by now.

And I resent the comparison to Top Gear , nobody compares me to middle-aged, tight-jeans man and gets away with it.

lucykate · 02/09/2005 22:44

ps, i know i've spelt 'ourselves' wrong...i'm tired, (up with 13wk old ds alot last night, ..and night before, ..and night before..etc, ..etc)and have had a glass of wine

i always intended to just have the one
bought my big pram which included the seat unit for when he was too big for pram body

BUT

and there are threads on this... the seat unit is an arse! too many faults to list here. still battling for money back on it

sooooo, we got a stroller as a stop-gap. but it went on and on so ended up buying anoyher proper pushchair!

misdee · 02/09/2005 22:50

well my citisport is up on the for sale board if anyone is interested.

kath4kids · 02/09/2005 23:02

I just love these pram threads right here goes.
1 silver cross coach pram
2 chicco 2003 trio (car seat, carry cot, cosytoes the lot) thinking of selling not used much coz got pregnant very quickly and needed something lighter lived on a hill
3 M&P Aria (hate it)
4 Quinny Zapp
5 double instep nipper double (best pushchair ever)
6 Tandem thing which mil bought awful thing so old, and difficutlt to push
7&8 umbrella pushchairs at my mothers
9 M&p big wheeled pushchair

I still have them all should get rid of some really though.

btw anyone got one of those new m&p ones don't know what its called but saw it the other day in the M&P shop looks quite querky

When older two were little had quite a few pushchairs too about 7 i think dh thinks i need treatment for this pushchair fettish.

Anyone else in the same position. They just don't understand do they!

misdee · 02/09/2005 23:04

was it thisthing?

yawningmonster · 03/09/2005 00:17

We have two and I was very relieved at this thread as I felt terribly guilty about using money on something we already have, am now convinced it was an essential purchase.

  1. Large 3 wheeler, do alot of tramping and this is great, also I dont drive and you can pretty much fit an entire load of shopping in its tray.
  2. Cheap stroller bought when ds was about 8mths from trademe (similar to ebay) to chuck in the boot for when we are out and about and just want to have a cruise around the shops, can tuck under arm to go on buses etc, light and convenient.
NannyL · 03/09/2005 00:39

i think generally you can get buy with a nice 3 wheeler (if you may have another kids get phil and teds to start with!) and use in single mode....

and a Maclerany umbrella type buggy!

LouiseT · 03/09/2005 13:53

I've got three 7 year old pushchairs, hand-me-downs from my sis:

  1. Silvercross Wayfarer (for use as a carrycot when walking from the house when DS was wee)
  2. Graco Mirage (ancient but still works)
  3. Maclaren type pushchair from Mothercare in bonkers green, blue and yellow. Plus a new Mothercare stroller. Thinking about having no 2 baby but can't really justify a new puschair.
