Portable potty

Can anyone tell me where I can get hold of one? A friend had one from Superdrug but none of the branches I have been into subsequently have ever heard of it. Basically it is a round 'dish' with a loo seat and lid and the wee goes down into another compartment and can't come up again. Would be ideal as it is sometimes less than convenient, shall we say, to empty a full potty in some public places.... Live in SE London.

I bought a portable potty from Boots although it doesn't sound like what you're describing it is still very good. It has disposable liners similar to plastic bags with a sanitary towel type thing in it to soak up all the nasties. Has be used with great success as you can simply throw away the bag or put it in the carry bag that they also provide with it.

You can get similar ones, but with bags and things that are rather like sanitary towels in them to soak up the wee. The bag you then just take off and throw away, rather like a nappy sack. John Lewis sell them. Dd1 used it fine, dd2 won't have anything to do with it, so we carry a normal potty round, and yes, disposing of contents is sometimes....interesting!

I can vouch for how excellent the folding potties are that Teletubby and JaneLucy are talking about. I got mine from John Lewis and used it lots of times when ds was first potty training as he refused to use a toilet. The good thing about them is that they fold really small, so will easily fit into a changing bag etc. The one I had was made by Tommee Tippee.

does anybody know of a travel potty other than the Tommee Tippee one?
thanks

We have a Tommee Tippee one that DS calls his 'collapsing potty' with good reason. Make sure the legs have clicked into place before use....(but we are successful in using it)

federica · 09/05/2004 15:58

but is there no alternative to Tommee Tippee?
