As a mum of a 10 yr old girl I have to say if all of them are like mine, she will already have far more craft sets than she knows what to do with!!! What about a starting cooking book, or a hairstyles book, or a jewellery box instead?

What about a scrapbooking set (basic set in ELC for £10) and a disposable camera to record her birthday?
