Has anyone used the city mini for their newborn? I would like to buy it but i'm a little unsure as to how comfortable and supportive it is for a newborns back. Can someone please enlighten me.

I've just got one for my 4 month old. She is quite small (only about 5.5kg) and I'd say she's only just big enough to go in it. I can hardly tighten the straps enough for her. The back support is ok and can go very flat but it's quite flimsy. I reckon it wouldn't be very comfy for a newborn but if you could get a really nice cosy liner or headhugger thing for it, then it would probably be ok. I wanted to have a flat pram for the first few months so I bought a 2nd hand 3 in 1 travel system.

btw DH just sorted the straps out and they could be tightened a lot more. Seems I was just being incompetent. It looks really comfy for her now with a fleecy liner, I will be test driving tomorrow Smile.

I've never used one with a newborn, but DS3 was 5/6 months old when we first used one.

You can buy baby nests for them which makes them pretty snug and a bit more softer/comfortabl for them.

Should really add, the only thing that would put me off with a newborn is that when the BJCM lies flat, and you go over rough terrain the backrest does swing left to right a bit which might not be too good for a small baby.

Other than that, it is a fantastic pram. You can buy a BJ carrycot as well, but I can't remember if you can fit them on the BJCM.

I have a double, used it for my twins from newborn & it was great. Loved the sunshades! I think I used sheepskin liners plus blankets so they were nice and comfy (end of Sept babies). Lies v.flat indeed, I was quite impressed. And the fold is so fab.Don't think I'd use for a newborn without liner of some kind tho.
