Double Kit Qu. for those with an Older Style Phil & Ted's Explorer

Slightly technical question here: Does the Older Style Phil and Ted's Explorer doubles kit need plastic double hinges in order to fit it to the front of the pushchair ( for the newborn/toddler position ).

I've just bought a second hand one and we can't work out how to fit it on. I know the new style does include these double hinges, and although they aren't mentioned in the older instructions, we just can't see how it will fit without them. Help, please!

Mine fits with zips ... can't really remember now but don't you lay the main seat back into baby position and then use zips to secure???? Heck, I could be barking up the wrong tree completely

Yes, it definately fits with zips, I just wondered if we needed to fit the frame with some hinges too, because we just couldn't get the zips to "fit", iyswim. Thanks, we'll have another look today. The instructions are as clear as mud.

Rosie, make sure the doubles seat that sits on top for the older child doesn't have it's metal frame on it. If so, take it off. Then it'll be flexible and you'll be able to zip it on. It took us a fair amount of fiddling to figure it out - it almost needs two people - one to pull it taut and the other to zip it. No hinges needed, just brute force! Good luck!

Yes! That's it - We've been trying to put it on the top with the metal frame on. So, let me get this right - when it's going on top, you take the metal frame off, when it's going underneath ( for two toddlers ) you have the metal frame on, is that right? Thank you so much!

Yep ... sorry I should've registered what you meant last night but after a day cleaning like a lunatic I wasn't thinking straight!
