Anyone want to sell me their Multipla before dh makes me get something normal?

I would love a bug-eyed Multipla but really struggling to find one round here (SW London). I would happily travel a bit though if I could find one (with air con!).

Fingers crossed! Anyone?

Yes, really!

I guess that's another vote for dh's side then (tbh, pretty much everyone I know agrees with him too)

i would rather drive a trotters van than one of those.

What exactly is it about them that you like so much?

IHeartKingThistle · 05/08/2010 11:23

I've wanted one for ages, I just think they look cool. And are a bit like a van (I think as a plumber's daughter I have always secretly wanted a van).

There's a Fiat garage in Kingston (or there was five years ago) that might have some second-hand, maybe?

I would love a Multipla if they came in automatic. They are ugly, true, but you don't have to look at it if you are inside, they are lovely to drive and there's loads of space and the visibility is better than any other car I have ever driven. And you can fit three child seats in the back. But I've got used to automatics over the last few years and don't want to go back to manual. If I did it would be for a Multipla, though.

I used to see loads of them around here but haven't seen one in ages. Where have they all gone?

Ponders · 05/08/2010 11:35

well they updated the style 6 years ago so all the bug-eye ones are older than that now - either they are conking out or people are hanging on to them!

The older ones have a lot of mechanical probs according to honestjohn

Mmm, to be fair if I were buying one I'd probably go for a non-bug-eyed version.

IHeartKingThistle · 05/08/2010 21:08

Can't find garage in Kingston, I guess it's not there any more. Shucks.

The bug eyes are the POINT imo!

Yes, but if all the other bits have fallen off the car leaving only the bug eyes behind then that's a bit of a drawback...

The old model did look distinctive where the new one is bland.

2jamsandwiches · 05/08/2010 21:19

well possibly.

let me talk to dh.

is Y reg, pretty battered, 1 fairly careful owner, I think 104,000m.

if we did want to sell it, it wouldn't be until Sept though. (we're in london too)

IHeartKingThistle · 06/08/2010 08:20

Thanks, unfortunately I need one sooner than that, thanks anyway!
