Where might I find a muslin/voile panel which will fit a front door (ie. just long enough to cover halfway down the door) ?? is there such a thing ?

John Lewis have a lovely choice of voile panels in all different lengths. Not cheap though. Or there is always Ikea. I got a long pair from there and cut them in half to do our small windows - just threaded some of that net curtain wire through the hem. It looks fine and only cost £5 for both windows.

Yes try wilkinsons or your local market. I picked up a lilac voile panel for front door from wilkos for about a fiver. It hit the floor but i just cut it to size, just under door opening.Watch out though as the color fades in sunlight pretty bad with voile.
