Rear facing seats in Argos catalogue

Has anyone else noticed all the rear facing seats in the new Argos book are placed in the front seat of the car?
I though this was a) illegal if an airbag was there and b) not advised?

See this picture: here

Bad or what?

actually I think that page is really helpful. If you click on the car safety link (bottom left) there's loads of really good info that a lot of Internet sites wouldn't have

I think, like so many of these issues, there is loads of conflicting advice. Our car has a facility to switch off the air bag in the front for precisely this reason.
If a child is in the front, you are less likely to take your eyes off the road to checks/he is OK or asleep or whatever and also, IME, DS2 can't "get at" DS1 when he's in the front - worked for me.

But the advice from govt is to put them in the rear and def. not use them where there is an airbag (agree - mine can be turned off too).

I just think Argos is wrong to show them like this - it is showing this is where you put the seat and I think it is misleading to people.

Why can't they show them either not in a car or in the back?
if you look here , this is the rospa advice - quite clear

several cars have seat belts that are not long enough in the back, therefor the only place they can strap in properly is the front seat...

there is nothing wrong with having a child seat in the front AS LONG AS THERE IS NO AIR BAG (or at least the air bag is switeched off)

Now most modern cars with front air bags have ISOFIX in the back tho, so you safely fit ISOFIX car setas (tho these are alot more expensve!)
