Sippy, Free-flow or Doidy

DD is 6 months and has been EBF, dislikes bottles. We've got her a free flow but she doesn't seem to like it much. She does seem to enjoy drinking from an actual cup more but makes a lot of mess (could that be the reason? ). Do you think she'll like a sippy cup or should be get a doidy?

I recommend a doidy - my DS uses one now at 10 months without assistance. We used to hold it for him then give it to him with a little bit of liquid so he could try himself! I think he likes it because it's similar to cups (which he sees us use) and he can see the liquid "approaching"!

Thanks Igglybuff! Btw have namechanged Have just ordered one off Amazon. when did you start giving him the doidy to hold? DD at the moment just likes playing with the freeflow and pouring water everywhere.

Nice name! What made you change?

I used to give it to him from about 8 months. He would throw it about then gradually he started to try and hold the handles and bring it to his mouth (usually upside down!) Then one day at 9 months he just picked it up and did it properly. I was shocked!
He watches us use cups and glasses which might have helped.

I also have one of these for drinking when out. He finds it lot easier to get on with than a traditional sippy cup, for example when he's in his pushchair. I've taken the valve out and it doesn't flow to fast as it has several holes instead of one big one.

He is also EBF and not a big bottle fan although he is getting better (sometimes a bottle is faster!)

ooh very nice, I like the look of those.

The doidy arrived yesterday and is amazing! She had been fussing with the free-flow cup, loves playing with it on the highchair and getting water everywhere. I was astounded that she actually voluntarily drank out of the doidy! and several times! (we helped hold it for her obviously ) Mealtimes suddenly got easier.... thanks so much for the tip. She was very pleased with herself too!

Name change due to having thought of a nice shiny new name and because DH knows my previous name just in case....

Oooo got to be careful when the DH knows you on here! Mine does too but I didn't realise til he read a thread and said oh that's you! Luckily I wasn't being rude about him

may have to name change again and not tell people who I was before!
