Moth protection

I am at my wit's end with these horrible little gold-coloured moths that seem to be everywhere, near wardrobes and drawers in our house.

I use Autan moth protection hanging things and also balls but nothing seems to work. Got my DVF cardie out this morning (not worn for a while) and was dismayed to see there were about 6 holes in it.

Am now thinking it just isn't worth having anything nice but presence or otherwise of moths seem a ridiculous basis on which to plan one's wardrobe. And I like having nice things!

If anyone has any good moth protection recos please let me know.

I use the hanging things but moths also don't like light so the thing is to leave your wardrobe doors open every now and then and riffle through all your clothes every couple of weeks - take things out and give them a bit of a shake. It stops them getting a grip. The only things I have had eaten are a couple of items that fell off hangers and stayed scrunched up on the wardrobe floor.

Put anything that has early signs of damage in a plastic bag and freeze for 24 hours before washing - freezing kills the eggs, sometimes washing doesn't. For some reason, they don't like clean clothes so try to make sure that things you are putting away for a season are washed first.
