I am due to have twins in November and would really like to buy a nice comfy rocking chair to breastfeed in.

Is this a good idea and do you have any recommendations?

Think about where you will put it.

If it is to go in your living room so you can watch TV while feeding then yes you will probably use it.

If it is to go in a nursery with no entertainement for you while you feed then I suspect it might not be worth getting.

Suggest you avoid the specific "nursing chairs" which won't be a lot of use afterwards and are quite expensive.

DH's gift to me when I had DS1 was a lovely rocking chair (light wood with cushions); it was used for feeding with a v-pillow across my lap, and has been used and loved in the living room ever since. It came from John Lewis and was not expensive.

Think I'll have a look in John Lewis, I just like the idea of having a rocking chair,

Get a glider chair from ebay - much cheaper, and you can always get the seats re-covered.

I loved mine. Helped calm DS down enough to latch on when he was tiny and we were both new at breastfeeding. Then it helped get him to sleep when he was older (not every night) - and really relaxing just in general too.

we got a dutalier rocking bfing chair with footstool from john lewis. It was expensive but well worh it. It has seen us through two babiies and is now a comfy chair in dd1's bedroom, very sturdy and comfy. It was money well spent IMO.

I used an ikea poang when I fed my two, it was really comfy and whilst not a proper rocking chair it does have give in the frame so you can rock yourself. I got a leather one so it was easy to wipe up any spills.

i got the cheap one from kiddicare, about £100 from what i recall. it's fugly and a little bit flimsy. it's in a corner of ds room and i have sat in it every single day since buying it 13 montsh ago
