Perimenopause, higher sex drive and where to start with sex toys

Just posting this as a new thread instead of a reply...
Since hitting peri I've got the sex surge! I want it way more than my husband does. If I'm totally honest I could easily do it every day! Likely that if we did the novelty would wear off but I would like some form of sexual intimacy every day it doesn't have to be intercourse. I know it sounds really daft but I feel stupid telling him that because deep down I know he's not as bothered about sex as I am and we are doing it most weeks twice so I feel I shouldn't be complaining!
He also has really sensitive skin and is on sertraline so sometimes takes longer to ejaculate. This makes his penis sore! We were joking about it last week and I said I'd have to get a vibrator and we could try using lube on him to see if it helps? I know I'm wet enough so not sure it will make any difference?
But where to start with sex toys? We're early 50's and have never done stuff like that. He is quite shy but the way I'm feeling now I'd love to try new things but have no idea where to start.
Advice appreciated from those who are much more clued up than me would be fab.

Oh heavens I hear ya loud and clear! I didn’t realise it was a thing!! It took me and my husband by surprise! I’m sorry I can’t offer any advice as I’m in the same position but it’s good to know I’m not the only one.

A curved wand in glass. Small bulb at one end and larger one at the other end. Experiment with it.
it can reach g spots and the smaller one is useful for anal training. I find that ladies find it less intimidating than some of the beasts that are out there.
Progress from there

I am always shocked that there are couples who have never used toys. I have been using them with partners for 30 years, but you have to start somewhere, and I'd start with a collection that gives you a good, full range of experiences. Spend some money and really treat yourselves x

1 - Good quality metal waterproof bullet vibrator
2- A mains-powered wand: Magic wand or doxy wand
3 - A womaniser suction toy (Satyfyer if it's out of your budget)
4- A G-spot vibe; my go-to would be a Lelo Gigi
5- A rabbit vibe; so many to choose, I'll leave that to you

I'd also buy a good-quality silicone lube. I like Uber Lube and a good water-based lube like sqlid.

Start there and then see how you go. If you're really wanting to explore, have a look at OMGYES, as they have a whole section on toys as well as lots of info for both of you.

Enjoy !!

So I've ordered a vibrating cock ring, a bullet and lube. Feeling excited but nervous!!
