Have you ever used your sexuality to further your career?

No, never. My daughter is in sales and absolutely does. I’m very proud of her. Charm and beauty get her ahead, but she has brains behind them, too.

God no, but then it just wouldn’t work like that at my place.

NinaOakley · 21/07/2026 20:40

Just to be clear, looking at the poll options! “Using your sexuality to get ahead” I interpret more generally than “shagged someone to get noticed.” Being beautiful and attentive can go a long way in some industries.

I sealed a good contract for my firm by using my charms many years ago and saved a few jobs in the process. Well that’s my excuse for being a wanton 40 something lol

How do those women that have regard the men they have (for want of a better word) manipulated?
Have they reinforced The Patriarchy and implicitly condoned sexism in the workplace?
And if a women uses her femininity to gain an advantage over someone else, how should she react when she attracts the attention of a misogynist?

Mine neither 😂😂😂

No... Never would.

Aren't these the type of people that do so to get where they want to be but then conviently forget and jump on the sexual harassment bandwagon years later.

I'm pretty sure I got a contract job 30 years ago because the man interviewing me was attracted to me, I was wearing a shortish skirt in the summer. I wasn't particularly well qualified for the contract so was surprised to get it.

MeanWeedratStew · 04/08/2026 03:03

No. I did wear a short skirt to help me pass my driving test 30 years ago, though.

But at work? I work in a female-dominated field, so I probably couldn’t even if I wanted to.
