Do you still masturbate even if you're in a relationship? More or less so?

I think it is different for everyone, masturbation and sex have their own respective places in a relationship. Personally I don’t masterbate and never really have done, and it has nothing to do with being in a relationship or not. I wouldn’t dream of telling my partner that he can or can’t masterbate, that’s entirely up to him.

Sharingadrink · 17/06/2026 13:47

Every morning lol

JJZ · 17/06/2026 15:13

Unfortunately, being in a relationship doesn’t mean you have regular sex. Some of us need to sort ourselves out 😆

PeachHiker · 17/06/2026 16:12

I have always masturbated when in a relationship or not.

Old habits die hard 😆

Yes, and for me it's nothing to do with how satisfied I am from sex with my DH. I just enjoy the sensation and orgasm I get from a vibrator or my own touch, to my own fantasies as a separate thing.

SallySharp · 17/06/2026 16:53

I'm like @GigiAnnna , although I am single now it is a separate act to sex. It is not a consolation for being alone. Different reasons, different times of day. For instance, almost asleep in the dark with a fantasy in my head enjoying my own gentle touch.

tanoshi · 17/06/2026 17:13

I masturbate thinking about other people masturbating. Often wonder if we all masturbated at the same time and all had an orgasm simultaneously, would the earth actually move :)

topcat2014 · 17/06/2026 18:54

According to AI millions of litres of ejaculate are produced worldwide every day

Maccar305 · 20/06/2026 09:57

Of course !

sometimes together

SallySharp · 20/06/2026 12:35

OP, what about you, since you started the conversation?

JustANormalGirlInAnAbnormalWorld · 20/06/2026 16:39

More so! I wondered if that was normal! Just get used to having more I suppose!

I've been married almost 10 years and still masturbate. I had a couple of relationships before this when I was younger and I still masturbated then also and it didn't change anything.

For me, I am not looking for a certain number of orgasms per week where I don't need any more, so even if I had sex every day, I may still want to masturbate on my own. I see partner sex and masturbation as separate and I just enjoy masturbating on my own, in my own time, using my toys as needed.

lucyandmike · 22/06/2026 19:38

I do and have done ever since I started, it isn't more or less whether I have been in a relationship or not.

My husband has done too and says he has masturbated and watched porn since his teens. More recently he has really tried to stop, as he is much hornier and harder if he doesn't, and once he gets to 5 or so days without he really enjoys the feeling of being constantly aroused.

Tiptopp · 23/06/2026 15:50

Once or twice a week for me, found out recently my wife has started playing with herself more frequently in the shower and of a weekend in bed if I’m out early with the kids. She’s always said that she’s never played with herself but it’s just a sudden urge. Finding this out has certainly improved our sex 😂

StarlightLady · 25/06/2026 23:21

Of course. Once or twice a day. It’s a totally different situation to 1:1 sex with someone. One is about sharing bodies, the other is 100% me and that is a good thing.

ExpertInAbsolutelyZero · Yesterday 09:03

No, we've taken steps that mean I can’t.

FlyingBeGoat · Yesterday 18:06

yes - we don’t live together and might not see each other each week due to work, kids etc etc
