What do you hide you sex toy in?

My children are getting to the stage where I need to start hiding our toys! We currently just keep them in a basket under the bed in a drawer. Not particularly hid 😂 has anyone secretive storage box they recommend?

I think you just have to be mindful. Put it out of reach, somewhere private.

We don't have that problem. Daughter is married etc. Sex toys are kept in the bedside drawer with various polaroids of her with previous partners etc.

I cut the back out of the bedside draw for my ex and then when you pulled the draw out there was room for a small box behind the draw to fit

You just pull the draw out and then pull the box out and slide the draw back in, works well and is pretty easy to do

You have polaroids of your daughter with previous partners? 😮
Ours are kept in a shoebox under the bed. Not that they get much use these days 🙄😞

No. It was just a badly worded sentence. To clarify, it's my partner who has polaroids of herself with some previous partners. They live in a box in the bedside cabinet.

No children to worry about, but l’ve always kept mine (along with condoms) in my knicker drawer. Surely if you were were worried about rummaging children, you could just put your knickers on top? When you need one, you need one, you don’t want to negotiate a security system first.

l assume you have tablets and other things out of children’s reach?

Tablets are in a locked medicine box in the kitchen cupboard 🙂

We have a good selection of toys so wouldn’t want them found🤣

We bought a Ryan air size carry on suitcase with locks, that’s what we use! I have a womanizer in my bedside drawer because it gets used daily, but it doesn’t really look like a sex toy. The rest go in the case which is kept in the wardrobe.

What a good idea!!

I don't think you need any specialist storage for sex toys. Mostly, these things are kept in bedroom drawers etc. If you have small children, you just keep them out of reach like what you'd do with medication or household cleaners, bleach etc.

iamruth · 15/02/2026 12:33

Lockable reasonable size metal cash tin with code lock under the bed. It’s a bit of a faff but less faff than going all the way to the wardrobe etc. and if my nosey child asked I would say that passports and documents are in it.

What about a glass box on the wall with a sign saying in case of emergency break glass 😆?

Probably a great place for a decent bottle of wine! 😆

It’s quite concerning that parents in charge of children can’t work out a way to keep things like this inaccessible to their children. Or is it just that you want to talk about this? There used to be a bloke on here who had an obvious fetish for this sort of thing, he wrote multiple posts about boxes for sex toys in his house, a separate box for his mobile home, he used to talk about carving a special box out of wood himself…it was all very odd and clearly some sort of fetish.

He must have had some section of toys to fill all them boxes 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I don’t need my children not to be aware that we own paracetamol though, I just need it to be kept somewhere that they can’t access it so a high cupboard in the kitchen is fine. I’m ok with my mother in law being able to discover the calpol in my house, I’d rather she didn’t find butt plugs so the bathroom cabinet isn’t the ideal location for them

Yes, but for a grown adult not to be able to work out how to go about keeping them hidden is pretty unbelievable. They just can’t work out what to do….sure. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

He probably didn’t, it all sounded made up along with his apparent sex life and wife. He was just another sad pervert using mumsnet for wank fodder.

PigletJohn · 15/02/2026 19:06

In a box marked "spare Hoover bags."

Nobody will ever touch that.

You've not met mine when they were little then...

Wendywooooo · 16/02/2026 09:11

Used to keep them in the bottom draw under a few old T Shirts, never had an issue with that.

As I've got older though im less fussed about toys, keep a couple of hand held vibrators in a tray under the bed, along with the bits DH likes, Paddle, Flogger, Bedroom Boots etc.

2 grown up kids still at home but can't imagine either of them crawling around looking under the bed that goes 2 inches above the floor

bebanjo · 16/02/2026 12:55

Surely the easiest thing to do is teach your children that they are not allowed in your bedroom unless you are there?

Sunshineandgrapefruit · 16/02/2026 13:30

Yes. Teach them to not go through your stuff! Also how to knock!
