Swingers clubs and sex parties among straight people are not comparable to the experience of a gay sauna. The former generally occurs with people who are already in a relationship, or who are part of a social circle. With the latter, gay men will have sex with complete strangers with no context.

No, there's no need for any previous relationship or social circle. You go because you want to have sex with people. (Or at least watch and/or be watched.)

At a wedding in a castle in the chapel which was hopefully deconsecrated. It was roped off and quite dark but we snuck in. Having spent the past several years exploring kink and swinging, I can assure you that there are a multitude of events throughout the UK where single women turn up, often on their own, for the purpose of having sex. Some of those events are in saunas and spas.

I was talking about the men, not the women.

Women are generally free to attend and swining event. I thought that should go without saying.

The same is not true of single men, because any such event would be flooded with single men who are looking for sex. Men would have to be part of the community, or would have to attend the event with a woman.

I'm not sure why you think heterosexual events are anything like a gay sauna.

That's what I'm saying. The membership is a restriction, which stops anyone from walking in.

It's not the same scenario as a gay sauna where literally any man can walk in. I don't think you really understand what happens in gay saunas.

Well I haven't said anything about gay saunas - you have been saying that women wouldn't get naked in front of other people (they do), women wouldn't go to these places (they do), and now you've started saying too many men would go (although you've been told that there are restrictions). I'm not at all sure what you're actually trying to argue here.

But anyway the membership is not a difficult hurdle. It's a legal requirement for their license, it doesn't require them to be "part of the community" or attend with a woman.

And there are other clubs which have different license terms and which don't have membership requirements.
