I get the feeling from reading reviews it’s a bit grim.

I've been a couple of times, the reviews of it aren't great and to be honest they are pretty accurate. Its not the nicest of places. It depends what you are wanting to get out of the experience.

Its been open for years and whilst I wouldn't say its ever packed out it obviously does a good enough trade to stay viable

I've visited the attached shop, which was average at best, far better places to get your goodies from, but from what I understand of the cinema it is frequented by a lot of gay men, transvestites and dominatrix's with subs. I'm not sure its somewhere to go as a straight couple

Is that place still open? I'm in my 50's now and have known of this place as long as I can remmeber, never been in though. It's always been known as a grim, dingy sort of place and certainly not somewhere I would take the wife.
Whats the reason for going?

Nice coffee and muffins maybe?
