Sudden change in libido, from no desire for sex to constant.

I have never loved sex, and DH and I didn't do it a lot. We had 3 very young kids in a small flat so we just grabbed opportunity whenever we could which suited me, and he was fine with this too. Usually this was when kids were out at nursery or school.

However, there must be something hormonal going on with me as suddenly, I want it all the time and can't stop thinking about it the rest of the time. The kids are still young but not very young, so it is still difficult to find time. Once the kids go to bed, they often get up to ask for something to eat or drink so when they go to bed it isn't that easy, and both DH and I feel awkward about doing it with the kids in the house (I know that is ridiculous, but I can never totally relax, even with a lock on the door 🙈). It isn't so much the fear of being caught, but I just don't feel comfortable with them in the next room.

We are in Scotland and the kids are now off school for the holidays and don't have much opportunity for a night away together so I'm finding this boost in my libido really frustrating 😂.

Has anyone had this sudden increase in desire (I'm 44, no other signs of peri menopause)? And, how do you get over the doing it at home with the kids around (aside from door lock).

We usually go into the bathroom, run the shower and have a quickie. Or lock our door and do the same but usually me leaving in the wall or bed to not make noise. It’s do-able!

Yep - this is how peri menopause has started for me - increase in sex drive since about 37 (42 now). No other symptoms either. Some days the thoughts of sex can be so overwhelming I cannot concentrate on anything else.
