Cold sores on lip after oral sex

Hi, I’ve been with my partner 4 years and last night we had a long sex session , our sex is usually 20 mins but last night it was about 2 hours 😳 anyways I woke up with a cold sore on the top and bottom lip what could this mean? I’m worried he has some sort of std he left for work this morning and I haven’t been chatting to him all day so haven’t mentioned it to him yet or am I being silly

I think cold sores take longer to develop so it wouldn't be the result of what you did just the night before.
Though as it was about to erupt last night, if you gave him oral sex there may be a risk you gave him genital herpes...
Is there someone better informed on this subject here?

Could it just be some damage from the long sex you had? Friction from kissing/oral? Are you sure they are cold sores?

They would definitely take longer to develop than overnight! You either already had them developing, in which you may have passed the virus TO him, or they are not cold sores and perhaps just sore skin from all the sex you had.

You won't have caught anything from him if it's showing immediately but you have probably passed something onto him and he may get symptoms. Incubation period is 2-12 days.
