Recommend me a vibrator…peri has given me a high sex drive and I’m no longer attracted to my husband

As the title says I’m afraid. My husband and I are having marital difficulties and haven’t had sex in a long time.

Peri-menopause however has brought me a very high sex drive which I am currently managing with masturbation, but I’d like to get a vibrator because I’m missing the penetration.

I had a vibrator years ago (probably something from Ann Summers) but didn’t love it, so recommendations would be very much appreciated. I’ll probably need something entry level for now!

TIA

I recently got the Satisfyer Pro G spot and it lives up to the name! It’s a double action of vibrator and a sucker which I think makes all the difference. I was never able to go all the way before but this takes me across the line everytime

I have been considering this (and similar) for a while. Thanks for the positive feedback! Any negatives for this model?

BeEagerTurtle · 09/06/2025 07:30

I got a my partner a womaniser Pro as recommended on this site somewhere, ( and by one of her friends) certainly not cheap and not really a penetrative toy either, but incredibly effective at making her orgasm

Start with the little Durex bullet to get into the vibe (literally!) and then consider other options from there.

You can pick one up for around £10 and the waterproof one makes bath time extra fun.

l travel a lot for work and one goes everywhere with me.

I think rabbit vibrators are the best as they allow penetration & vibration at the same time.

I get mine from love honey & prefer a softer silicone texture which allows movement rather than a hard, fixed type - but that’s just my preference. I don’t bother with rotating bits. The site has good reviews to help you choose.

My Womaniser Pro G spot is both penetrative as well as the suction which I prefer to just the Pro which seems to be only suction. I also got it for around £40 on amazon as there was an offer so certainly did not break the bank and well worth the money.
I think the only drawback is finding the right spot isn’t always the quickest, but actually it means I can have a play round a little more

I can’t get on with a Rabbit, unless they have improved, for me it’s akin to having a cement mixer in the bedroom, but it is very much different strokes for different folks. That’s why l suggested the Bullet for starters, it’s cheap and cheerful, very different to cheap and nasty you understand.

l have a couple of others including an Omax, the box says “will get an orgasm out of a stone”. It’s powerful, but you have to be the right mood, it leaves you exhausted. Certainly not for part of a wake up routine.

I've had orgasms with all different types of toys. Rabbits, bullets, suction, dildo, magic wand but once I went to a Doxy wand I don't use anything else.

Aishabibi · 10/06/2025 06:03

I have several!

My wand is my favourite, but it’s noisy so for use when alone. My bullet is most used and I have a discrete one that looks like lipstick for when I travel

DreamyGloucesterGirl · 10/06/2025 12:03

Go for the Love Honey Wand, the mains power one. The first time I used it I squirted for the first time in my life and boy the orgasum was terrific.

Iamapolar · 10/06/2025 13:05

Thanks for all the recommendations. It’s clearly been a while sun I shopped for sex toys because there a lot of options now!

Starting with the bullet sounds like a plan and easy to get. I’ll look into all the rest!

Would agree re comments about the Rabbit. I tried one and found I didn’t like the movement etc and also the ear on my clit. Equally the Womaniser is amazing but not if you prefer penetration. My favourite was fairly simple which was a nice latex one so soft outside from Lovehoney. It had some ribbing and was a good size so I felt stretched but could also pull it out and use in my clit. Was really effective and was able to take time, unlike the suction type which are just so effective they are too quick

I'll add a sensi point from Amazon to tease yourself. Also a fan of the Satisfyer pro 2. Also on Amazon. I like the thrusting men's small plug which I use as a vaginal vibrator too.
