What contraception are you on and are there any side effects for you? I'm 9 months PP and on the pill, have taken this for years before baby. But now I just can't seem to remember to take it and I'd like a change

None here, and it’s very freeing. I wouldn’t recommend it but it suits us, for many reasons.

I'm sterilised but it's permanent so probably not what you're looking for.

ZebraPrintt · 19/05/2025 13:37

No I do want another baby but not yet lol

I have a copper coil as I got too old to take the pill safely. Periods are regular and not taking a hormonal contraceptive meant my libido came back with a bang. Insertion was ok, normal bleeding for a few weeks after - that was 4 years ago and it'll be good in there for another 6.

Not on anything atm but I was on the implant for years. I had 4 over 12 years and I loved them, didn't have to remember to take anything, stopped my periods completely so saved a fortune on sanitary protection. Seriously considering going back on it when I have come to terms with not having kids. My Mum favoured the injections before she hit the menopause.

I’ve tried a few to try and stop my periods @ToadRage but none have worked at all 😭 I’ve heard the mirena coil might but progesterone just seems to make me bleed more so too scared to try as there can be delays to get removed.

OP sorry back to you! Have you any idea as to time frame of next TTC?

Gymbunny2025 · 19/05/2025 18:59

Just to add- that sounds like a difficult decision @ToadRage

RealEagle · 19/05/2025 21:52

I had the injection for the first time on 7th April and have been bleeding since 16th April so wouldn’t recommend it but everyone is different
