Help! Peeing/leaking during sex

secretanon · 25/03/2025 19:18

Mid 40s female, on HRT and menopausal. Always had a weak bladder with leaks post childbirth (coughs, sneezes etc) but having just started to enjoy a sex life again following a long and sexless marriage it’s becoming increasingly upsetting that leaks are happening during sex with my new partner. In particular they happen when I am close to and during orgasm. Even when I feel I’ve emptied my bladder just before a session! On days I see him I’ve even tried hugely reducing my fluids, but it still happens. I try to do kegels as much as I can and am in good shape otherwise. Has anyone had this experience? It’s so embarrassing and it’s starting to knock my confidence to completely let go 😭😭😭

Are you sure it's pee and not a squirting orgasm? Without being too gross if you smell it you'll easily be able to tell the difference

Unfortunately I’m certain it’s pee 😢 It’s like my bladder isn’t fully empty and the pressure from orgasm (maybe I overclench, I don’t know) just pushes more out!

Ah in that case then I'm really sorry I can't help but I hope someone will be along soon who can. My only advice would be to speak to the GP, women tend to assume we just have to put up with bladder leaks as we get older/we've had children but actually we don't and there are things that can be done to help

I’m sure I’ve read about vaginal oestrogen helping with this on here before? Hope you get it sorted

Hi op hopefully you will get some good advice off the knowledgeable women on here but I would also. see your Gp and not be fobbed off without a referral.

In the meantime have you considered a sex blanket such as Splash Blanket. You are your partner would still have to embrace the liquid but it would protect your bedding as they have a water proof membrane inside them and may give you less upset and more confidence.

Hope you find an answer

GarrynotsoGorilla · 26/03/2025 07:41

@secretanon if your partner is comfortable with the situation then get a waterproof/absorbent blanket as suggested and discuss with your GP the options. Personally this wouldn't overly bother me if this was an issue for my partner. But i can understand how it could be for some.

Not this again. Squirting is merely involuntary peeing. There is no difference.

Aworldofoptions · 27/03/2025 20:11

@EllieShelly

Why does it bother you do much what other women called the liquid that comes from their own bodies.

Are you just as bothered about a chip barm or chip teacake?

Spoiler alert their both getting eaten 😋

I don't know if it's worth the effort educating you given from your post it sounds as others have tried and failed...I'll just agree to disagree with you and spend my energy on having many squirting orgasms instead 👍🏻

There is no vessel or organ in the human female genito urinary system that stores that much liquid, other than the bladder. I'm not knocking your experience if your orgasm is so intense you lose control of your bladder, I'm happy for you. Happy pissing

@secretanon Could you try double voiding when you pee before sex? Pee and wait, clench like a kegel and then push again and that last little amount might come out.

I do this before running or weight lifting( doesn't seem to be an issue with sex for me). Works really well
