Hoping that the Mumsnet hivemind can give more honest advice than the online shops!

My vibrator died and I want a new one. I previously owned a basic clitoral one which was fine, but there are a gazillion out there so perhaps change is in order. I think I want to consider:

  • Noise. I live with two DCs so it can’t be too loud. The quieter the better.
  • If there’s any that don’t look like vibrators and could be passed off as something else if discovered then that would be helpful.
  • I didn’t use my old one very often. Every couple of weeks maybe. So I’d have to think about value for money on cost with that in mind.
  • My old one had batteries which was sometimes a pain. So rechargeable would be good.
  • Good clitoral stimulation is a must but if there’s a way to bring penetration into it then that would be interesting.

Any tips gratefully received thank you x

Hi op we own a lot of sex toys and enhancers. I would say that the Thump by Bellesa is the single best bang for buck toy I have come across ticking virtually all your boxes .
It it discreet fitting snugly into its own cute charging case which obvs makes it rechargeable.

It has a powerful clitoral vibe and clitoral suction function and the “thump” function which is describe as a wand like powerful sensation.it is water proof for the bath and very nice body safe silicone finish.

It comes in at £80 but there is at this time a reduction making it £60 which is great value for what you get. It isn’t silent but Bellesa also have a new silent range, and one of those is a rabbit type if you wanted some penetration. if you wait there are occasionally deals where you can bundle toys or even get a free one.

You may find once you up your toy level that you use it a lot more. Thump is easily used in partnered sex.

If that is still to expensive then I have bought an amazing metal bullet off eBay rechargeable, and powerful for £15 .

Aishabibi · 23/03/2025 07:30

My go to silent, discrete toy is the Satisfyer Kiss. Looks like a lipstick so easy to hide and take travelling and it’s silent. It’s not the most powerful of my toys but does its job very well for me

GigiAnnna · 23/03/2025 11:04

I use a plug in wand. It's noisy but on the lower settings it's not too bad. I think most vibrators have some level of noise if you want one with a decent motor. It's large but it's not an obvious sex toy, it can be passed off as a massager. It wasn't cheap, but not as expensive as some on the market. It was about £85 but I use it daily so good value for money. If you want internal stimulation you could go for a rabbit.

DippingAToeIn · 23/03/2025 22:04

I have the Lelo Soraya and it is just lush. The G-spot part moves and the clitoral vibrator is amazing. They all have some noise, truth be told, but with the door closed I can't imagine it would be super noisy. .

Mxflamingnoravera · 23/03/2025 22:20

The Belessa air vibe is way better than the thump in my opinion, I bought them both in a moment of madness. The Thump has been consigned to the don’t bother box but the air vibe is another story. It has a deep internal vibrator and a clit suction part. If you’re going to spend £80 I know which I’d choose.

Aworldofoptions · 23/03/2025 22:50

@Mxflamingnoravera

Interesting you don’t rate the thump in a moment of madness I bought four lol it’s and addictive site when the deals are on.

We have the air vibe pro and like it but haven’t managed to get the wow from it that the reviews like your experience have got. Any tips to get the best out of it would be appreciated!

Do you go vibe and suction equally from the start or go with the vibe and suction in different ratios I’d been meaning to post on here seen as you have one then might as well ask

jewelcase · 23/03/2025 23:33

Thanks all. I quite fancy the kiss due to its quietness and discreet shape but I’ve not tried the suction ones before and fear I may be one of the few for whom they don’t work.

Part of me is just like ‘Sod it, I’ll get another cheap one for a tenner’.

Basic dildo and a soft head on an electric toothbrush… amazing and quick orgasms.

ForeverTipsy · 24/03/2025 01:14

I bought the Bellesa thump last year on sale after a recommendation on here, and love it. I too had a really old little battery Rabbit before. This new one with a clit sucker is a game changer. Not good for penetration though (will keep an eye on this thread for recs for those), but worth the money for the clit sucker alone I'd say.

Aworldofoptions · 24/03/2025 07:38

@jewelcase

Promise I have not affiliation with Bellesa but that’s why the thump is great if you’ve not got a big collection. We already had 2x suction toys when I bought it for the “thump” feature so wasn’t bothered about the other two features.

Have been surprised by how much my partner has enjoyed the other features. If you bought it purely for the vibration then if the suction works for you, you haven’t really lost much.

Then if you know suction works you can explore other toys like the above air pro. Our favourite suction is the lelo sona.

I realise I am bordering on mansplenation so apologies for that . There is nothing wrong with the cheap ones if they are body safe we take these away with us but it always surprised at the reluctance to spend money on personal pleasure items on here and in RL when they are important to peoples lives.

You don’t need my validation op but buy both buy whatever works for you treat yourself I am sure you deserve it!

Much love ❤️

Taking into account the requirement for silence, l would suggest the little Durex Bullet. Available in Boots and supermarkets for little more than £10 and it purrs gently. I use mine most, almost every morning as my start the day go to, last used a couple of hours ago. I travel a lot for work and one goes everywhere with me.

It’s small, discreet and slips into a makeup bag. Waterproof versions are available to enhance bath times too.

It does take a single battery (AAA) but it’s long lasting. Remember with any rechargeable one, you will need to leave it on charge near a socket somewhere.

Finally, another innocent looking piece of equipment that can create little wonders, if you have a flexible shower hose is a pulsating shower head.

jewelcase · 24/03/2025 23:22

Thanks all. I honestly can’t justify the expense so I bought a cheap Durex one from Tesco. Very similar looking to my old one, so I assume will do what I need it to do when required.

D'you mean to say you've bought it and not tried it yet? I'd have ripped off the packaging and fired it up straight away!

I wonder if it'll keep cropping up in your 'favourites' every time you try to place an online groccery order from now on?

Tesco's eyes and ears are everywhere! Even in our most intimate moments.

Neh - Honestly it’s nice to have in the drawer but I doubt I’ll be using it often. Tried to use the old one a few days ago, hence discovering it had died, but the urge passed and has yet to return!

I was in Tesco yesterday for a few things and it was right there next to the shampoo so I bought it. Not online and no Clubcard so they won’t have it on record! I’m just glad the self checkout didn’t malfunction.
