DH wants me to grow my hair

I have been married to my husband for 12 years, we've been together for nearly 15. In all that time, I have always kept my erm lady garden very neat and tidy. Shaved it all off with a razor or usually with his beard trimmer 😂 . I'm not the kind to go in for Brazilians and things. . . I just don't have the time or money for all that. Over the last year, hubby has been asking me to grow my pubic hair. I always feel better, cleaner and fresher with it shaved. It's not like he is putting huge pressure on me to do it, it's more a bit of a running joke that he'd prefer me with a proper "bush" although he really is keen on me doing it.
Has anyone else had this from their partner? Did you do it and if so have you kept it for him or for yourself or shaved it off again?

I’m well into my 40s and have been “all off” since my mid to late teens (following example set by elder sister) when it was less fashionable. These days l have a monthly Hollywood wax. It feels right for me. Sister is the same.

Over the years l’ve had a few people ask me to grow it, but it has been a strict no! I would certainly recommend to remain the way you are happiest.

Gymbunny2025 · 21/03/2025 06:33

I wouldn’t. I like being smooth! Plus pubes and gym/swimming/holidays etc don’t work. Can you wear one of those wigs for him sometimes 😂😂

Feelinglikeacrapmam · 21/03/2025 08:59

I'm a bush girl, personally I feel like a child and look like a plucked chicken when I went smooth many years ago to try it 🫣
I don't think there's any harm in letting it grow out and see if he likes it as much as he thinks he will and if you enjoy saving the time only trimming it to keep it tidy. It's not like you can't just shave it off again if you change your mind, its not a permanent decision.
However most importantly it's what you feel comfortable with so if you want to stay shaved then stay shaved, if you start to grow it and change your mind then shave it off

I shave as I prefer it, your body your rules though. If you don’t want to grow it then don’t. DH trims, the length varies and whilst I have my preference on how he does it, it’s not up to me what he does. As long as it doesn’t tickle my nose 😂

My wife was always waxed/shaven and about two years ago I asked if she would open to keeping it trimmed which she does now and hasn’t done back. Personally I love it and I think it looks great and sexy but it’s a personal preference and if you’re happy to do it then give it a try, if you don’t like it you can always shave it off again.

onetrickponee · 21/03/2025 11:51

Tell him on the condition that he shaves it all off !

That should put the discussion to bed , well not bed 😀

BigButtons · 25/03/2025 07:09

You so what feels best for you.
i trim but would not go bare. I’d my partner asked me to I would not. I personally hate the look.

AlexaAdventuress · 25/03/2025 12:02

I've experienced life with pubic hair and without, and I know what I prefer! As an adult I really value the autonomy to control my own appearance, so I would tend to bridle at any attempts to make me change in a long term way. Dressing up is easy, because you can always take clothes off again. But I'd much rather be smooth down below thank you very much, and don't relish the feeling of having a coconut mat down my pants.

why be so disparaging?

AlexaAdventuress · 25/03/2025 16:25

Disparaging? Moi? Surely not. Just a gently humorous evocation of the feeling.

I’ve got a full 70’s bush, my fella is of the opinion ‘The hairier the better’ I like it too but he can’t get enough.
I wish it would make a proper return.

It's really bizarre that a lack of hair makes you feel childlike.

Feelinglikeacrapmam · 17/04/2025 15:57

@Chellybelle we all like different things, I'm in no way implying people who prefer to be smooth are peados, I just personally feel child like and it's not my vibe 🤷🏼‍♀️

But does your male partner shave his face? Do you remove underarm hair or shave your legs?

I don't see how this is relevant? The OP asked about pubes, I gave my opinion which you don't have to agree with. Whether I shave other body parts has nothing to do with how I personally feel about the right amount of pubic hair I'm comfortable with on my own body. If you like to be smooth all over your body or leave everything to grow then you do you, its personal preference 👍🏻
