Hi, our relationship is getting very close to the sex side of things. I am quite liberated sexually and happy with my body etc. It has been a while and I am concerned about STIs. Is it a thing to give a BJ with the guy wearing a condom?

Also which condoms, as there are some that are latex free etc. I really am at a loss here with this subject as I have never had to consider it before

You can try a flavoured condom of course.

This was definitely a thing during the AIDS crisis and it gave rise to multiple flavoured condoms. They are few and far between now (I think) so I guess it's now much less common

I appreciate that it depends on the guy but is it commonplace in other words it is not an ‘odd thing’ to do?

Ive tried the durex strawberry odd taste and my partner wasn’t keen. You can buy coconut BJ balm and all you can taste is coconut with a bit of lubrication so that might be an option.

If he objects to flavoured condoms (which should be a fun thing) then be very wary as there is no reason why he should at the start of a new relationship.

Just have STI tests or don't put a penis in your mouth that's going in other people if you're not exclusive. How is he going to return the favour to you? With a female condom? It will be crap.

When younger I used to give BJ with them wearing a condom as the first time I did it I literally got a bucket load shit down my throat but as I got older I found myself not doing that anymore and actually getting turned on more when doing it the heavier they cum. BJs with condoms are plain awful, it would be better not to bother, for both of your sakes.

Last year my wife had some major dental work done which meant that she had to be very careful about the risk of infection, so she opted out of giving me BJs for a while. I missed them badly, as did she. I did some research, discovered On Clinic Non Lubricated Condoms and asked if she would be prepared to give them a try. She said she would.

From my point of view the experience was still very enjoyable, though I can't deny that I missed the pleasure of feeling her tongue directly stimulating me.

Woman here, I personally can't stand any of the flavoured condoms I've tried although admittedly it was over a decade ago so they may have improved. I would just both get checked if you are in an exclusive relationship and then you don't need to use them apart from pregnancy prevention if you are not on other contraception. Getting checked also means you can have more spontaneous fun 😉

DW requires me to wear a condom for a BJ. It's .... OK ... but the reality is there's other things I prefer to do. Relevant that I'm less sensitive than when I was younger.

Personally, I wouldn't like a BJ whilst wearing a condom. I'd say it would remove most of the feeling / pleasure.

When I was much younger I had a girl give me a blowjob with a condom and for me personally I didn’t really enjoy it and from memory the girl didn’t enjoy it either because of the taste of a condom.
safe sex is obviously a priority and if it’s something you’re concerned about I think it’s absolutely fine to ask him to have a test and I’m sure he will be understanding.
when I was single I used to get tests before most new partners just to be certain that everything was fine.

I would never give a BJ without condom before both getting STI tested and establishing the expectation to be monogamous.
