Circumcision adult man and sexual pleasure

So my partner is nearing 40 and has a condition called frenulum breve. Essentially it means the string attaching his penis head to foreskin is pulled painfully tight during sex. There are also issues with the tightness of the foreskin itself. The thing is, he does actually get pleasure out of this tightness as well as pain, at least he says he does. The medical people say a circumcision is the best solution. While he likes the idea of being circumcised (not the operation but the putcome) he's wondering whether the loss of sensation he's expecting outweighs this and the reduction in pain.

Can't believe I'm commenting on this but I think I had something similar. As a child my "Banjo String" seemed too short and it stopped the foreskin going all the way back.

I have a vague memory of some kind of procedure to help as a very young child. (I'm not asking my mum!) I guess they didn't go far enough because it always seemed too tight and I never felt my foreskin would go back properly. As a teenager on one occasion my banjo string totally tore to the point where my foreskin went right back (the circumstances can be guessed), blood everywhere but little pain.

That essentially fixed it and my foreskin comfortably and easily goes all the way back, I've never looked back. 🎉

So my strong suggestion would be to get just the "banjo string bit" sliced and keep the foreskin which seems a much less drastic fix.

Of course, I'm not a doctor so maybe we're talking about different conditions, but google suggests we're not. (This is the first time I've heard there's a name for it!)

This was really awkward to share, I don't think I've ever told anyone the above.

My DH was circumcised as a child for medical reasons, I must admit I do enjoy giving him oral as it’s very clean, he obviously doesn’t know any difference compared to being uncut, he’s very sensitive and has always enjoyed oral and PIV.
Good luck and worth going to see a consultant to go through the different options.

I was circumcised as an adult. Struggled with discomfort during sex due to Phimosis for many years, Sex is now much more comfortable, but as time passes sensation is definitely reduced.

mrandmrsrobinson · 26/02/2025 14:02

I was circumcised in adulthood. I prefer it to the discomfort I was having. And TBH i think the head is more sensitive when exposed and also believe it to be cleaner.

Also circumcised as an adult (30ish) due to phimosis. No choice really but much prefer being circumcised. Little bit less sensitive in the head but no less pleasure, and in my case much healthier overall.

I'm uncircumcised with no issues, I'm the only uncircumcised my partner has had and she had to get used to giving handjobs which I thought would have been harder (no pun intended) for someone circumcised. Does it make you less sensitive to last longer?

WingedWarrior · 27/02/2025 19:30

I had a circumcision ten years ago at a private clinic. I had moderate phimosis with a longish foreskin. For me it has enhanced sexuality so much. I love the look and the cleanliness so much as does my wife. Love being circumcised.

Circumcision should only be considered as a last resort. Frenulum breve can usually be treated successfully without going the whole hog. With a longer frenulum, for example, the foreskin might loosen naturally with increased movement, it would certainly be more comfortable and something to work with.

I didn't know a foreskin could get pulled back till I was in my mid 20s and a GF pulled mine harder than I ever had. It hurt like hell at the time but there wasn't any tearing. These days it goes back easily. My point is that it's skin and over time, skin can be stretched. (Just look at people with flesh tunnels in their ears).

I struggle to believe there isn't significant loss of sensitivity. If I were to get dressed with my foreskin pulled back, I couldn't go 5min without discomfort. As for cleanliness, I find a daily wash with soap and water does the trick.

BelindaBZ · 03/03/2025 22:36

Thanks for all the tips (no pun intended). As I said frenulum breve is only one of the issues. His foreskin is also tight. I didn't know this when I pulled it back the first time without thinking. I haven't seen many uncircumcised penises in my time so am still adapting. Hopefully whatever treatment happens will do the trick

As a woman with a man who is cut and he was my first one after about 40 men I can say I love it. I was so freaked out at first I didn’t know how to give him a hand job and a BJ and for me one of the things I loved to do to an uncut guy is suck and play with the foreskin when they cum and put

my tongue underneath it etc but his is so clean and always smells amazing I don’t think I’d wanna go back to uncut. It is a lot harder to give a hand job but I know how to do it now and sec definitely feels different. Although his quite a bit smaller then all my past experiences because he has no foreskin the thrusting makes him feel bigger than he is. Only over thing I’ll say is I’ve noticed anal is a lot more painful with him due to no foreskin.

Kidznurse · 30/03/2025 22:47

DH was circumcised in his mid twenties due to phimosis and has absolutely no regrets. He is discomfort free, it’s much cleaner and had no negative effect on PIV and to be honest it feels just the same to me. Please encourage him to have it done then move on pain free.

Oldandcobwebby · 03/04/2025 14:04

I was circumcised as an adult, a couple of years ago. Although it was absolutely essential to my well-being, I'm shocked at how much sensation I've lost.

My DP was circumcised in his 30's for similar reasons. He says there is significant loss of sensation. He normally only comes through oral now where as he'd no issue coming through PIV previously.
The sensation lessens over the years post circumcision

ForAgileAnt · 18/07/2025 15:14

Allow it to heal and try and save his foreskin.

Zanatdy · 20/07/2025 07:30

My FWB is circumcised (done as an adult due to a football to the balls!) and first guy i’ve had sex with who has been circumcised. I was quite surprised at first, but now i’m used to it, I prefer it. Does feel a lot cleaner giving oral.

Am really wondering how a football to the balls causes the need for foreskin chopping off!
