Anal sex and condoms

Zeroperspective · 23/02/2025 21:57

Im going to be having anal sex next week and whilst I insist on my partner using a condom for PIV sex, is it as important for anal sex?

I do trust him when he says his last test was negative and he's only used condoms since that test (my situation is the same) but I'm asking specifically is the risk greater/the same/less with anal sex as it is with PIV sex

Thanks

I'm assuming you mean STI rather than pregnancy risk 😂

I believe it's a greater risk of STI with anal as more chance of slight injury/bleeding/letting in infection. Happy to be corrected though

The lubricant condoms are covered in assist in anal penetration and are recommended for general healt cleanliness IMO

Echoing PP if you mean STI risk then it's even more risky with anal. Tissues are much thinner and can experience trauma therefore infection spreads very easily.

Zeroperspective · 23/02/2025 23:42

100% mean sti risk I know you don't get pregnant with anal 😂 thank you for the advice I'll ensure condoms (different ones) are used for both PIV and anal

Really important, for both participants.
And remember to change the condom if you switch from A to V.

Definitely condom each and every time. It goes beyond STD prevention and is a hygiene thing.

You have clearly thought this through, but don’t be surprised if the whole thing doesn’t work out at the first attempt.

@StarlightLady it's not my first time so I'm not too worried about that, it's just the first time with a partner that I'm not in a monogamous relationship with :)

Agree, especially if it’s not a frequent thing. Little tears can occur, be careful, go slow, lots of lube and if it hurts stop straight away. And relax and have fun.

Use a clean one if y starting at the rear (so no back to middle).

Jeremy corbyn was conceived analy, so best wearing one as we don't want any more of them

Don't go straight into anal. Start with massaging the asshole with some toys, this way it will make the area less sensitive and prone to infection.

Deleted as I didn’t realise it was an almost year old thread!

You aren't monogamous and you haven't seen evidence of a clean test - obviously you should use condoms, all the time. You're MORE likely to tear during anal than vaginal sex and therefore more likely to contract any STI he's carrying. Why would you think it's safer to have unprotected anal sex than unprotected vaginal sex?!
