Wife won’t have sex when son is at home

Wife and I have had a pretty healthy sex life but our son who is in his 20’s has a new girlfriend and to put it bluntly they are always at it which isn’t the problem but the gf is extremely loud and vocal and we can hear everything,(they always stay here and never at her parents so we rarely get the house to ourselves) we’ve had a chat with our son but it hasn’t made a difference but now the girlfriend will even come downstairs in her skimpy underwear which I’ve said to my wife is slightly uncomfortable but now my wife has said she won’t have sex whilst they are in incase they can hear us. Has anyone else experienced similar and what was the solution?

It’s really bad taste and disrespectful from the GF side, she should acknowledge it’s your house and she must know she’s loud and you can hear her.

If your son isn’t bothered then I would 100% tell her to turn down the volume and to cover up in your presence.

in terms of your situation, I absolutely get it, and I’m not sure how comfortable I would be if I had a son in his 20’s living with me, although surely at night time it’s acceptable. It’s not difficult to turn down the noise, and unless your son moves out, your sex life will dwindle very quickly!

I think your wife is being over mindful only because the gf is so inconsiderate. It’s possible to have really quiet sex and that’s exactly what myself and dp did while my daughter and stepchildren were down stairs completely engrossed in a game and each others company ( quickie nothing more lol). I think maybe either you speak to your son again or your wife talks to his gf about how she walks around the house. To be honest, they are both out of order.

This is a joke post because no woman in her right mind would let another woman wander about her house in skimpy undies in front of her husband .

Tell your son your house rules and if he doesn't respect them he moves out? He's an adult in his 20s. I would absolutely not speak to his gf though. She may be your future DIL and mother of your grandchildren!!

I think she's treating it like a house share. We would wander round like that in uni days. And there were a lot of partners and sex noises to put up with 😂

It's a shame young people often can't afford to move out these days as it's a right of passage really. Sounds like these 2 need to though!!

I genuinely wish it was a joke. She’s only done it twice and I’m not sure if she knew I was home but when she see me she didn’t care and carried on as normal

The thing is, me and my wife have said we obviously know you’re having sex which is obviously fine but just be mindful with us being home and obviously be quiet as nobody wants to hear and quite frankly it sounds like some sort of porn star.

So tell him to move out? That you want some 'peace and quiet' in the evenings. I really wouldn't go into more specifics than that. And it's kind of true!

You and your wife should have a straight forward discussion with your son and the girlfriend and say that the sex is far too loud. Keeping us awake and how you like it if we both paraded around in our underwear!
If there is no change after a while son has to go.
