Sex and size

So I’ve only slept with my husband and we have amazing sex. I think he’s on the larger size of average and quite thick. Like 6-6.5ish. I nearly always orgasm from PIV and even if not I find it incredibly good, think he can hit my deep spots? Had no idea they were a thing until I downloaded omg yes. So I have bugger all experience and I guess I wan to know is this likely to do with my body being particularly responsive or am I just incredibly lucky to have found a guy that fits like a glove? Also has anyone had a bigger one and was it better? Can’t take any more than my hubbys length with a dildo but wondering if the real thing would somehow be easier? Just curious! No plans to source a real life monster lol

Does Size Matter? Evolution and the Primate Penis
by Suzanne Harvey

"So yes, when it comes to penises, size – and shape – matters when it comes to natural selection!"

Thank you for sharing this.

It validates so mich of my own personal experiences when it comes to the subject and the oft quoted "Size doesn't matter".

Because I have often thought, really?

If the diameter of the female's vagina increases to match the male's penis girth (and length) increase, then "size could matter". However, I do not think we are that lucky. If the male's penis diameter is on the large size (i.e. 1.8 inches), and the female's vagina size is on the small size (i.e. < 1 inch); then the female will not want to be penetrated, and the mismatch will prevent fertilization. If this happens enough, the population will decrease, not increase. This goes against natural selection.

So stabilising a normal distribution curve rather than directional and driven by mechanical practicalities rather than females selecting mates on preference. Very interesting and thanks for sharing from me, too!

We are arguably in the first hundred years of women being able to respect purely for sexual satisfaction. That plus mate selection no longer necessarily leads to children and the biggest evolutionary pressure seems likely to be global warming and its effects. I wonder what 'evolution' will happen in the next 100, 000 years!!

Sadly we won't be around to find out, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the mate selection (based on penis size) bit 😂

Select not respect

Bionicman · 24/01/2025 08:23

So it’s clear that size ‘probably’ does matter for most women when it comes to sex , their enjoyment and the ability to orgasm.

however, does size matter when selecting a new partner? Ie if you met a wonderful man who ticked every box but he was a very average 5-5.5’ would that put you off and would you instead look for someone perhaps not quite so compatible with who had a bigger penis and therefore made sex more enjoyable for you?

Gymbunny2025 · 24/01/2025 08:26

I think potentially that's what we'll see more of. Where women have had a few sexual partners before settling down and so know what works and what doesn't for them sexually. A life of miserable sex isn't what anyone wants!

Indeed, and we are already starting to see results.

A meta-analysis compiled data from 75 studies conducted between 1942 and 2021, including measurements from over 55,000 men, the average erect penis size has significantly increased by around 24% over the past 29 years, with the average length growing from 4.8 inches to 6 inches.

Yes, it doesnt mean we all (or any) want 12inch cocks with 8 inch girths, but does show we do prefer larger to smaller, for me personally I like them to be in the 6-8inch length and 5-6inch girth range, others will prefer smaller, and others bigger.

VoodooQualities · 25/01/2025 06:51

I'm no expert in evolution but I would be very surprised indeed if a 24% increase in penis size over 80 years (or 29 depending on how you read your post) was the result of natural selection.

Three reasons off the top of my head: that's only three (or one) generations, millions of small penis men will still have reproduced, father's penis size isn't the only factor in determining son's (probably, I don't know this for sure).

Mind you, assuming the 24% increase is true, I wonder what else could be going on then.

NinaOakley · 25/01/2025 12:24

I would want to know who is doing the measuring! I wouldn’t trust a subject-reporting study.

SkyGrant · 25/01/2025 14:23

The thought occurred to me that there must a lot of tape measures in the bedroom when this issue crops up!

I have an accurate depth gauge calculator x

Totally had this myself. My two exes before my current partner was both very very large. When we first started having sex he was a lot smaller “about 5:5/6 inches” and I did actually think to myself this isn’t as enjoyable as I am used too.

But….. I really liked him and we clicked straight away and one night when we was drunk he actually asked me after about 5 times if I had orgasmed with anyone before him as he hadn’t made me yet and I said yes and he asked how did I achieve it so I told him (mostly from deep penetration but slowly and either missionary with my legs pinned back or me on top but where I’m on my feet and in both positions they hit a certain deep spot) and to my surprise instead of him getting pissed off as he couldn’t reach the spot he suggested we try a cock sleeve and I hadn’t even heard of them and at first it felt a bit strange and I didn’t want to say yes it felt nice in case it hurt his ego but we tried it when we was both super drunk soon after and it made me actually scream a bit as it felt so nice and then made me orgasm and after that I felt comfortable that after he had cum if I wanted to orgasm I would ask him to wear it or he would just say now it’s your turn to orgasm lol.

When I was dating I always thought I wanted a man who was on the bigger size for sure and that would be a deciding factor but now I see it wasn’t.
